In 2012, Amy completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. Amy completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia in 2015. Amy worked as a Physiotherapist for two years in Australia before moving back to Canada.
Amy believes patient education and advice is the most important part of treatment. This is inconjunction with manual therapy and individualized exercise prescription helps her to build a patient-centred treatment plan. She feels professional development courses are important to continue her learning and enhance her patient care. She has completed postgraduate training in many areas some of which include: acupuncture, taping, upper cervical dysfunction, persistent pain, concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, post-traumatic headaches and pregnancy for the orthopaedic physiotherapist. She enjoys working with all orthopaedic conditions from various populations.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. Cooking and baking. As well as weight lifting, running and doing Pilates. Amy is excited to continue her physiotherapy career asa member of the LiveWell Waterloo team.
