Aleksandar Kravic or Aleks joined our team at LiveWell in September 2018. He attended Western University where he completed his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. While working through his degree, Aleks also worked as a personal trainer at the Western Student Recreation Centre, giving him the opportunity to learn about exercise prescription, motivation, and being able to work with a wide range of populations. In addition, Aleks completed a co-op course at Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine clinic where he learned under a PT and working with people recovering from various injuries. As well, he volunteered at the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging, working alongside a fitness instructor with people with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and strokes. Aleks then furthered his education by completing his Master of Physiotherapy degree at Western University. He has completed placements in a wide variety of settings and has worked with a plethora of presentations from spinal cord injuries to gun shot wounds to the all-too common ankle sprain.
Throughout his undergraduate years and especially in high school, Aleks played and still plays basketball and transferred the lessons learned on the court to the classroom and now in the community. As the resident physiotherapist at LiveWell, Aleks believes a common denominator for a successful treatment between all people walking through the door is to listen thoroughly, establish goals that are relevant and find ways to incorporate exercises into their lives. Aleks is passionate about motivating people to move more as he believes motion is lotion to not only our physical well being, but also to our emotional, spiritual and mental health. As well, he believes that equipping his patients with the knowledge and understanding of their condition and of the human body is paramount to minimizing the likelihood of reoccurrence and be able to manage their dysfunctions with more confidence. He is well-aware that learning never stops and with a passion for health, wellbeing and positivity he will strive to help achieve the goals that you want and get you to “Live Well” at LiveWell Physio!
Outside of the clinic, Aleks enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing sports, and keeping up with his personal fitness. He loves trying out new food and trying to stay in the best shape possible. He also enjoys reading, meditation and being outdoors.
